I love bananas ánd I love nuts! Mix them in a breakfast banana nuts shake and there you go: good start of the day/week. When I used to go to the office, while working for a Dutch publisher, I’d buy a shake like this at Amsterdam Central Station. But you know, if you can make one from your kitchen: why not! 🙂

Banana Nuts Shake

Prep Time: 3 minutes

Cook Time: 5 minutes


  • 1 banana, previously peeled and frozen
  • 1 cup (almond) milk
  • handful of mixed nuts
  • 3 dried figs (optional: soaked in water overnight)
  • 2 ice cubes
  • dash of ground cardamom (optional)


  1. Blend all ingredients together in a blender until smooth.
