Banana Peanut Butter Spirulina Smoothie
Jump to recipeThis is a treat in the morning! Or, any time really… The color might not be very appealing, but it’s oh-s0-delicious. And super healthy too. Especially because of the spirulina. It is a feast to wake up with this one, trust me!
What is spirulina?
This shake is green because of the spirulina. No surprise, it is a blue-green saltwater algae. It has a very high protein content and contains many vitamins, acids and various minerals.
SMOOTHIE VS. JUICE
I tried to mix the algae with a juice, but that didn’t work out so well. This blue-green algae was way to dominant and didn’t mix well with the other ingredients. So I prefer a smoothie like this! Do you have experience with spirulina in a juice?
