Once I organized a high tea and baked an alternative brownie - with honey. It was a request for a friend to have some -refined-sugarless dishes. Well, what did I know. Honey?.... I didn't like it to much. I did make a photo for my blog, but the recipe never made it to the www. "If I eat (or make or post) a brownie, I want a classic brownie," I'd always say. Nothing beats the real thing.
No pulp? Use grated carrot or beetroot!
You just wanna cook all day, are granddaughter of a baker, try not to waste any food and juicing fanatically since the past month. Pretty inevitable that you start to experiment with juice pulp! Sounds like me ;).
Woops... in my first blog I said... : "I’m the type of girl that likes to be busy with eating and drinking áááll day. And I don’t mean, “oooh-i-have-a-crazy-craving” or “when is-it-wine-o-clock ?!” This doesn't seem quite right anymore. I still don't drink gallons of wine, but my comment about cravings > down the drain!
I started to drink half a liter of green juice + glass of water (body temperature) with lemon on an empty stomach twice a week.
Working till late
I'm in a pretty busy work phase. I build websites, have beenI'm the type of girl that likes to be busy with eating and drinking áááll day. And I don't mean, "oooh-i-have-a-crazy-craving" or "when is-it-wine-o-clock ?!" No, put me in the kitchen with a pile of fresh products and I'm HAPPY.
It has to be super tasty
Rule number one in my kitchen: tasty comes before healthy.Infused water - This week I found these massive and small 'Mason' jars at de Blokker here in Amsterdam (10 euros for the large jar + tap, nice!). It's perfect for colorful infused water. I sliced a lot of lemons, limes and oranges: et voila! Didn't drink this much water in ages!
To my opinion, not everything needs to be sugar free, gluten free.... "everything"-free. I guess I'm blessed with being able to eat everything. I believe that when you eat all the 'bad' stuff balanced (+ as clean/pure as possible + enjoy what ever you eat/drink)... the recipe to a stressfree happy foodie life! Anyhow, some people (more and more ) really need to be careful about what they eat.
I found this very nice recipe on the website Oh She Glows, that my friend Evelijn showed me. It has loads of (VERY YUMMIE!!!) vegan recipes. All the healthy stuff! These oat bars are fantastic. Like I said with the granola... "Will I ever buy granola in the store again?!" I could say the same about those oat bars. They're easily prepared, healthy, made from scratch - with the home made jam -, perfect for breakfast or a afternoon snack.
When the sun starts to shine, I prefer to start the day with a fresh and healthy smoothie. This is actually the first time I made a smoothie with cucumber. Makes it super fresh. Love it!
I'm a bit hooked on puddings.... Tried my first one years ago with a Christmas dinner. Completely ruined it (only the dessert ;)). Yes, I can say: I have improved!!! This buttermilk panna cotta worked out so nice. And so did this yoghurt pudding... If you want to surprise you guests, this dessert is absolute a must do!!! You can prepare everything, so it won't take much time during the dinner.
